A DAY IN MY LIFE

Saturday May 29th, 2009

It’s been a very special day that I spent with my dad and will ever remember.

We did some shopping together then we had dinner. All in all, I had a wonderful time that I wish the time didn’t fly by so quickly.

DAD YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION.

Dad, Thanks for always being there for us.
I’m so glad, grateful and proud to be your daughter.
If I keep thanking you all my life it won’t be enough.

And now back to my boring daily routine :|
========================================================

I HAVE BEEN FRAUD OoO ........YES!

Yesterday, my friend and I had breakfast together, then decided we'd look at some stores near that restaurant. I was going to purchase something from one of the stores, my debit card didn't work the 1st time, I told the saleswoman to try again...Nope, didn't go through and I had to cancel my purchase, I seriously didn't worry much and was thinking (it happens sometimes).
Later on I tried my online banking and couldn't log in, "We couldn't recognize you" although I made sure every time I tried that I entered the right one. I started to panic and called customer service and explained to them what happened. They told me that my card has been compromised and that I have to the nearest brunch tomorrow morning.

OMG!

Went there, and guess what? there was an attempt to make a transaction of 482$ from my account, alhamduellah it wasn't approved. They had to change my card and hopefully now everything is going to be Ok. InshaAllah!
So Be careful, I thought I was but apparently not enough.

Tulip festival

Each year in the first two weeks of May, Canada’s Capital celebrates Tulip festival which has been taking place since 1953. It’s claimed to be the world’s largest tulip festival with several million tulips across the National Capital Region and parts of Gatineau – a city in the French side and across from the capital Ottawa.
These Tulips are actually a gift of thanks given from one of Holland royal princesses to the Canadian people in appreciation for their hospitality during World War II.

Further to the story:

The Dutch Royal family gave 100,000 bulbs to Canadians as token of thanks for being sheltered here during World War II after their country was over-run by the Germans, and for the Canadian liberation of Holland. The Royal Family stayed at Rideau hall (Government House) for the duration of the war. When Queen Juliana was pregnant with Princess Margriet, the problem of royal inheritance (requiring heirs to be born in Holland) was solved when the Canadian Parliament passed an act temporarily ceding a room in the Ottawa Civic hospital to the Dutch Crown. The first bulbs were gifted in 1945, and the first Tulip Festival was held in 1953.

As there was a long weekend last week, Victoria Day, we thought we’d go to see the exotic mosaic of colors and the beauty of these tulips.
These are some pictures I took...Enjoy!
